I have some good news for all of the Filipino fishermen that work in this nation. The West Philippine Sea was made available as a new fishing field by the Philippine government. The Philippines have just begun using Benham Rise as a new fishing site.
Benham Rise has 13 million hectare undersea region which are potentially rich mineral and gas deposits.
This time, there are no Chinese and Taiwanese fishing activities there, according to Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda.
The government will install 60 fish-aggregating devices at Benham Rise starting May 30, according to BFAR Director Asis Perez, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.
Perez said, "Maraming tuna, merong blue fin tuna, pinakamahal na isda. May galunggong, lapu-lapu, isdang bato."
And another good news is, the Philippines are the only country that was allowed to fish blue fin tuna.
