The former Justice secretary and now incoming DOLE secretary Silvestre Bello III confirms that they will reduce to 10% the so-called 'contractualization' in every companies. He told to reporters that the 'limit' is already under the law and it will be implemented to all companies in the country.
Bello III said, "Nasa batas na 'yan, and it's just a matter of implementing the law. Kailangan ng strict but equitable implementation of the law."
But according to Bello, it depends on the company if they can handle it very well and they have practical reasons to do the contractualization in their company.
"Depende sa kakayanan ng kompanya," he said, then Bello added, "Sa akin, for practical reasons, siguro I would consider an 80-20 arrangement lalo na kung malaki 'yung kompanya."
According to GMA News, labor secretary said that they want to prioritize to stop the contractualization in the government offices in his entire term. And for the private companies, they should have also implement such rules, Bello said.
He said, "Basically, ang sinasabi ng batas natin, 'yung employer, when he gets an employee, it should be a regular employee. But it passes through a probationary period."
Bello frankly said, "Ang ginagawa kasi, after five months, 'We will assess' and then you will come back later on.'Yung tao hindi niya ma-attain 'yung status of being a regular employee and that is done regularly."
