The current President of the Philippines ia yet to decide if he will declare the historical event of the year as special non-working holiday. The inauguration ceremony of incoming president Rodrigo Duterte is set on June 30, 2016 and many working Filipinos are waiting for this announcement.
According to outgoing Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. on his interview with state-run radio dzRB,"As of now, we are yet to receive information about the working status on June 30, [the day when Duterte will be inaugurated as president]."
Secretary Coloma assured everyone that they will announce immediately the statement about the holiday declaration of President Benigno Aquino III.
He said, "We will let the public know in soonest time, if there is such information about the holiday declaration."
If you remember, former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo declared June 30, 2010 as a special non-working holiday for the inauguration of the current president Benigno Aquino III to give way for all Filipino people to participate in the transfer of power between them.
So meaning, it's possible that June 30, 2016 will be declared as 'special non-working holiday,' if PNoy will do it and if there's no any personal issues involved between the two.
Duterte, who won in the 2016 presidential polls with a huge lead of over 16 million votes and bested out the four other presidential candidates. He will take his oath as the 16th President of the Republic at the Malacañang Palace.
