The joint Senate-House of Representatives canvassing committee finish its tabulation yesterday, May 27, and the proclamation of Duterte and Robredo by Congress is expected on Monday, May 30. However, the President-elect Rodrigo Duterte announced that he will not come to the proclamation.

The winners in the May 9 presidential and vice-presidential elections are the PDP-Laban presidential bet Rodrigo Duterte and the LP vice presidential bet Leni Robredo.

Duterte win by landslide while Robredo has a tight fight between Bongbong Marcos. But in the end, the new leaders will be proclaimed in no time.

Why Duterte will not attent his proclamation?

According to presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte, he will only attend the event where he will swearing as the next president of the country and that would be on June 30, when President Aquino’s six-year term of office expires.

Rappler reporter Pia Ranada also tweets on May 23, the words came out to the incoming president Duterte, he said, "I will not go to Manila until June 30 inauguration. Won't attend proclamation in Congress."

Duterte did not give a reason why he will not attend his proclamation on Monday. And also according to his aide Bong Go that the incoming president won't attend the proclamation.

Duterte won the presidency with his pro-federalism and anti-crime campaign, backed by his track record in leading Davao City for more than 20 years.
