The much-awaited event today! Monday, May 2, the face off challenges of the most favorite presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte and the independent vice presidential candidate Sen. Antonio Trillanes at the Bank of the Philippines (BPI) Julis Vargas Street, Ortigas, Pasig City.
Atty. Salvador Panelo is the representative lawyer of PDP-Laban presidential bet Duterte who holds the 'special power of attorney' to permit him to disclose his bank accounts in Bank of Philippine Islands.
But before this can happen, Senator Trillanes must be go there and must first execute an affidavit and name his sources. PDP-Laban spokesperson Paola Alvarez said that it's unfair for Mayor Duterte to divulge the details of his bank accounts if Trillanes won't tell the sources of his information which alleges that the Davao City mayor has millions of pesos in hidden wealth.
Alvarez told to dzMM, "He has to be explain to BPI and even to the people how he got this information, because if he cannot explain it, then it is false."
"What we want to know is that if you really did legally procure [it from] that source. Ibang bagay naman ang meron siyang bank account pero may transactions. Hindi naman porket may transactions ibig sabihin may ginawa ng criminal acts eh," he added.
However, Sen. Trillanes questioned the set condition of the PDP-Laban spokesperson Paola Alvarez and said, "Bakit suddenly may affidavit? Nung March nagsabi si Mayor Duterte, hinahamon niya lahat, pumirma daw sila ng waiver ni Senator Cayetano. Walang conditions iyun. Willing silang mag-open. Pero ngayong may akusasyon na, suddenly gusto nilang may affidavit."
