The People's Reform Party presidential aspirant give her reaction to the PDP-Laban presidential candidate Duterte's rape joke on her interview in Bulacan on Monday, April 18. Miriam Defensor-Santiago said to the voters that they can express their indignation by not voting Duterte in 2016 polls.

The senator who also known to have a 'tough and frank' personality shared his point of view in regards with the recent issue against Rodrigo Duterte. She said that the Mayor have been 'crossed a line' when Duterte said "I was angry because she was raped, that's one thing … but she was so beautiful, the mayor should have been first. What a waste."

Sen. Santiago said, "He has been asked to apologize and he has refused to issue an apology. He does not deny that he made a statement – that is for him to decide," according to Rappler.

On the other hand, Senatorial candidate Walden Bello also mentioned the words by the tough senator to tell the voters to make a “judgment” on Duterte. He said, "He says he won’t apologize. Well, if he does not, let’s punish him in the polls on May 9."

Bello said, "To excuse Duterte’s comments is an insult to the women’s movement’s struggle for human rights and dignity, which we have supported and enshrined in a number of laws to make violations of these right illegal and politically unacceptable."

PDP-Laban presidential bet Rodrigo Duterte was under fire since Sunday, April 17, because of a viral video where he was caught quipping that he should have been the first one to rape the Australian lay missionary because she was beautiful.
