Davo City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte officially filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for president on Friday, November 27, 2015, after he withdrawn his COC for mayor in Davao City.
Atty. Salvador Medialdea, as his representative who filed Duterte's COC for president at the Law Department of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in Manila.
According to Salvador, Duterte attached his certificate of nomination and acceptance from the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).

At that time, Mayor Duterte was in Davao City where he personally withdrew his mayoral bid before the poll body's office. He was with her daughter, Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio.
Inday files her COC as substitute for Davao Mayor candidate under local party Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod.
Rodrigo Duterte is replacing Martin Diño after withdrawing his candidacy for president under the PDP-Laban. However, Diño COC indicates he is running for Pasay City mayor.
There is still a question or problem for Diño's COC. It could hinder an attempt by Duterte to substitute him and carry the party's banner in the 2016 polls.
According to Comelec, all political parties have until Decemiber 10,i to replace or name their substitute candidates. Then on December 15, is the final date to set the final list of candidates for Elections 2016.
