Due to the filed complaint by the Philippines against those responsible for her plight, Mary Jane Veloso's execution was suspended, according to their lawyer Edre Olalia told to dzBB.
Department of Foreign Affairs spokesman Charles Jose said that "We are relieved that the execution of Mary Jane Veloso was not carried out tonight."
The GMA News reporter Emil Sumangil also confirmed the news on early Wednesday that Mary Jane Veloso has been spared from execution by the Indonesian government.
Now, Mary Jane Veloso was taken away from the execution island in Indonesia, according to DFA officials.
Meanwhile, according to the Indonesia's Attorney General's Office spokesman that the execution of Veloso was postponed after the recruiter of Veloso turned herself in to authorities.
