According to our state weather bureau, the potential cyclone might enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility this Tuesday and develop into storm. It will locally codenamed 'Betty' when it becomes cyclone and land in central Luzon and including Metro Manila this weekend.

Storm 'Bavi' to enter PAR on Tuesday

The Hawaii-based Joint Typhoon Warning Center stated that Typhoon Bavi will directly hit eastern coast of Quezon Province before getting on the provinces of Laguna, Rizal and Southern Metro Manila areas.

But the good news, according to PAGASA, the tropical storm might weaken when it hits the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and dissolves.

As per PAGASA, Bagyong Betty may bring moderate rains to the Bicol Region this Friday and will be felt in the Quezon, Laguna, Rizal, Cavite and Metro Manila areas the following day.

We might also expect that Betty will have sustained winds of just around 64 kilometers per hour before its landfall.

Typhoon Bavi's wind strength will decrease as it goes near the Philippines, according to the Hawaii-based Joint Typhoon Warning Center.
