The Actress/Host Anne Curtis was very happy as she became the new UNICEF Celebrity Advocate. She enjoy her stay in a Child-Friendly Space at Abucay Bunkhouse, Tacloban City, she read books to children and their families.

Anne Curtis spent 2 days visiting the area hit by Typhoon Yolanda in Leyte. She expressed her feelings as 'deeply touched' when she saw those children and families who have coped from devastated experience and building back their lives.

Anne said, "I am honored to join UNICEF on this very fulfilling and meaningful trip. I am deeply touched by how children and families have coped and are building back their lives. Clearly, significant progress have been achieved. Talking to children and their families, and being able to bring smiles to their faces is something I will remember for the rest of my life," according to

She was very pleased to know that the funds donated to UNICEF have successfully reached and worked for children who are in need. The actress also helped emergency response and visited the maternal health care ward in the regional hospital while in Leyte.

She added, "I played with children in a child-friendly space and a day care center. I read books to them and helped them draw in an arts and crafts session. I washed hands with school children and participated in their song and dance number."

For 60 years, UNICEF has been in the Philippines, working for children's health and education, and protecting their rights.
