The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration popular known as POEA announced the launching of their new online program for all returning OFW to access their Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) or "Exit Clearance" online and have the approved version printed anywhere at any time.
POEA administrator Hans Leo Cacdac on Thursday said that they officially launched the online portal "Balik-Manggagawa" Online Program on October 16. But only those POEA-registered workers can access the online platform.
Cacdac said,"OFW on vacation, rehired, or returning to the same employee may use the system."
In addition to this announcement, if the Filipino workers do not meet the above requirments, they will be redirected to the page where they can choose a date, time, and place for the processing of their OEC.
They need to pay P100 for processing fees and P19.50 for e-payment service, according to POEA.
Cacdac said in a statement Thursday, "With the existing database sharing with the Bureau of Immigration, the updated information of OFWs who have successfully secured their OEC using the system will be automatically shared with the Bureau.”
According to Cacdac, he predicted that more than 500,000 returning Filipino workers will benefit from the POEA BM online system.
