Philippines - The super typhoon 'Ompong' ("Vongfong" international name) will leave the country on Saturday, October 11, 2014). PAGASA's 11AM advisory saying that 'Ompong' expected to exit the PAR on Saturday afternoon.

'Ompong' to exit PH on Saturday (October 11)

PAGASA on Friday weather report said, Ompong has maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 220 kph.

Typhoon Ompong was last spotted 785 kilometers east of Itbayat, Batanes.

But PAGASA explained that Ompong is not expected to make landfall nor directly affect any part of the country.

State weather bureau also advised fisherman and those using small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon as well as the eastern seaboard of Luzon and of Visayas.
