NBA stars to visit Yolanda-hit areas in Cebu

NBA and World Vision Philippines announced that selected NBA Star player will come to the Philippines particularly in the communities affected by Typhoon Yolanda.

They are Robin Lopez and Wesley Matthews of the Portland Trail Blazers and accompanied by former NBA Coach of the Year and former San Antonio Spur, Avery Johnson.

NBA Country Manager Carlo Singson said, "Typhoon Yolanda caused sweeping destruction on a national scale, and those who were most impacted are still coping with its devastation months after," in a statement.

This visit is to support the on-going engagement to help the families and children victimized by Super Typhoon Yolanda.

Singson added, "The residents in Northern Cebu are on such group, and we support World Vision Philippines' tireless efforts to help the city and its communities rebuild."

According to ABS-CBNnews, NBA have given more than $2.2 million donation to support the relief operation for Yolanda's victims, its include the $250,000 donation to World Vision in November by the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association.
