State weather bulletin as of 5 am today, August 20, 2013, Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) affecting Luzon and Visayas, while Tropical Storm "MARING" (international codename TRAMI) was estimated at 600 km East of Itbayat, Batanes.

PAGASA placed an ORANGE rainfall Alert (Heavy to torrential rains) in Metro Manila and Moderate to heavy rains seen over parts of Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Quezon, Occidental Mindoro, Pampanga, Zambales, Bataan, Batangas, Laguna and Tarlac for the past 2 hours.

PAGASA added that the bad weather is expected to continue over the next 3 hours.

PAGASA said, "Tropical Storm " MARING " has intensified as it remained almost stationary."

PAGASA advised fishermen specially those using small seacrafts not to venture out over the seaboards of Luzon due to the possible big waves generated by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.
