The low-pressure area (LPA) was estimated nears Dumaguete City this afternoon, but has a little chance to become cyclone, according to the report by PAGASA.

PAGASA's 5 p.m. weather bulletin said that "At 4:00 p.m. today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 180 km West of Dumaguete City (9.1°N, 121.5°E). "

If LPA become a cyclone while inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), it will be locally codenamed "Kiko".

PAGASA systems are expected to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms in Visayas and Mindanao which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
