PAGASA announced the update for Bagyong Dante this evening, Saturday, June 8, 2013. Bagyong Dante maintained its strength and moving north northwest path but picked up pace from 9 kph to 11 kph, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center.

PAGASA posted on its official website, "At 4:00 p.m. today, the center of Tropical Depression "DANTE" was estimated based on all available data at 730 km Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora (17.9°N, 129.9°E)with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move Northeast at 11 kph."

State weather forecaster said, "Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, MIMAROPA and the Visayas will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rain and thunderstorms that may trigger flash floods and landslides,"

They added that the moderate to occasionally strong winds from the southwest to west will prevail over northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough.
