EMONG has intensified into tropical storm and has accelerated in a northerly direction, according to report by PAGASA, Tuesday afternoon, June, 18, 2013. Tropical Storm was estimated at 460 km East of Baler, Aurora.

PAGASA clarified that Tropical Storm Emong is still far to directly hit any part of the country.

Expect the moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Southern Luzon, Visayas and Northern Mindanao.

Weather forecaster said, in Wednesday morning, Tropical storm Emong was estimated at 470 km East of Basco, Batanes.

PAGASA advised fishermen who used small seacrafts to not venture out into the northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon and western seaboards of Southern Luzon due to big waves generated by Tropical Storm EMONG.
