Nineteen days from now, April 24, the national and local elections is set to make another historic event in the country. MalacaƱang already issued a declaration of the Proclamation No. 571, stating the 'MAY 13' as special non-working holiday nationwide.

MAY 13 falls on Monday and the Palace encourage every Filipino to exercise their right this coming Election 2013.

In a Palace statement says that "enable the people to properly exercise their right of suffrage."

Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda, "The Constitution designates national and local polls to be held on the second Monday of May and by virtue of Proclamation No. 571, s. 2013, the President wishes to enable the Filipino people to exercise their right of suffrage."

He added, "We enjoin all those eligible to vote to use this non-working holiday to participate in the electoral process that forms the bedrock of our democracy."

Let's make our vote counted, choose the right person for the right position in our Government. Make the right choice!
