A shark attack was took place off at the beach west of Auckland in New Zealand. The 14 feet long shark that killed a swimmer near a popular New Zealand beach on Wednesday, Feb. 27., according to report by CBS News site.

The incident happened at the popular beach in New Zealand. The Muriwai Beach near Auckland was closed after the fatal shark attack.

Pio Mose saw the incident and said to The New Zealand Herald, “We saw him rolling around, there was blood everywhere on the water,” then he added, "... I was shaking, scared, panicked."

Auckland Police recovered the body of the swimmer and they identified the man.

The Herald reported that the victim was Adam Strange, a 46-year-old television and short film director.

Strange family issued a statement expressing their shock and requesting privacy.
