The Department of Education (DepEd) released the school calendar for S.Y. 2013-2014. Elementary and high schools classes will start on June 3, Monday and will end on March 31, 2014.
DepEd Secretary Armin Luistro signed the school calendar in DepEd Order 10 dated Feb. 20, 2013.
DepEd Luistro said, "This School Calendar aims to synchronize all core events and teaching-learning activities in order to maximize the use of the 201 school days for School Year 2013-2014."
Department of Education announced also the quarterly exam schedules, listed as follows;
First-quarter exams - August 1 and 2
Second-quarter exams - October 10 and 11
Third-quarter exams - January 9 and 10
Fourth-quarter exams - March 2014
However, Christmas break will start on December 21, and will resume January 6, 2014
Meanwhile, the National Career Assessment Examination will be held on August 7 and 28. Then on October 28 to 31 will be a mid-year assessment and INSET and semester break. The National Achievement Tests and the final exams will be held in March.
