The former U.S Navy SEAL Chris Kyle was shot to death in the shooting range in North Texas. He was one of the two people shot and killed in Texas, according to report by Fox News site.

Chirs Kyle, 38-year old, shot by suspected gunman who was identified as Eddie Ray Routh, 25-year-old, at the Rough Creek Lodge's shooting range, around 3:30 p.m.

According to his co-author on 'American Sniper' book, Scott McEwen said, "We have lost more than we can replace. Chris was a patriot, a great father, and a true supporter of this country and its ideals. This is a tragedy for all of us. I send my deepest prayers and thoughts to his wife and two children."

The suspect was arrested in Lancaster, Texas, after a minimal police chase, according to Lancaster Police Officer.

Chirs Kyle has the most number of confirmed kills, from 1999 to 2009, he recorded more than 150 sniper kills, the most in U.S. military history.

Meanwhile, his book titled, "American Sniper," was published last year in 2012, became a New York Times best seller.
