One of the passenger and the train driver are in critical condition after the accident, reported by Austrian emergency services.

Austrian railways spokesperson said that the head-on crash was caused by technical error. The one trains got a signal to go onward when it should have been signaled to wait on the other train.

Spokesperson said, "A train got permission to travel when it should not have."

The Austrian Authorities are now investigating the Head-on train crash incident.
