The online petition in "SignOn.org" site which is urging Macy's to "dump" Donald Trump's advertisements of his merchandise and goods, has now a total of 548,504 signatures as of posting this article and it's still counting. This "dump trump" campaign was organized by a 30-year-old lawyer named 'Mr. Angelo Carusone'.

Carusone cited Trump's tweets of criticism over the newly re-elected U.S President Obama’s birthplace and the so-called “birther” movement the 'cause why Macy's should dump Trump ads.

Carusone said, "When I saw Trump's repeated calls for revolution on Twitter and the $5 million birther stunt, I realized, as a lover of Macy's, that the company was getting publicity from Trump's chicanery consequence-free"

"I don't believe people really care what Trump has to say," Carusone added, "This is about Macy's benefitting from Trump's unacceptable behavior."

Here's the Petition Statement in SignOn.org

Macy's: Donald Trump does not reflect the "magic of Macy's." We urge you to sever ties with him. Macy's says it has a strong obligation to be "socially responsible" and that "actions speak louder than words." Indeed. It's time to act.

However, according to Trump’s spokesman Michael Cohen, "Mr. Trump is important to Macy’s, both as a brand and as an endorser. His ties, shirts, cufflinks, fragrances and other merchandise are top-selling items across the country – in particular Mr. Trump’s ties are the number one selling ties at Macy’s."

As for Macy's statement released Tuesday night stating, "Many of the individuals associated with products sold at Macy's -- or at any retailer, for that matter -- express personal opinions that are not related to the merchandise we sell or to the philosophies of our company."

And as of writing this post, "dump trump" petition set a NEW goal - "We need 550,000 signatures."
