Metro Manila and 35 other areas are been placed under storm signals by PAGASA this Thursday morning. According to PAGASA, Tropical Storm OFEL (international codename Son-Tinh) made landfall over the southwestern part of Masbate and over Sibuyan Island.
PAGASA weather bulletin as of 7:00 a.m., "Tropical Storm "OFEL" was estimated based on satellite and surface data over Western Side Tablas Island, Romblon."

Meanwhile, PAGASA said, "Residents living in low-lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signals 2 and 1 are alerted against possible flash floods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas under signal 2 are alerted of possible storm surges."
