Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announced the 32 people as official Senate candidates who will be on the run for the senatorial race this coming 2013 election. It was Comelec chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr. who confirmed the said list.
Brillantes said in a statement, “There are 32 senatorial candidates. There’s already a resolution, which is being passed around for signatures (of commissioners).”

The 52 remaining candidates from the 82 aspirants who filed certificates of candidacy or COC is declared by COMELEC as nuisance candidates. If they insist with their candidacy, Brillantes advised them that they may question the legality of the decision they made before the Supreme Court.
