Before the Preliminary Round starts this coming September 14 to 22, 2012, Smart Gilas 2.0 Pilipinas who currently won the championship in the recently finished 34th Edition of William Jones Cup event that was held in Hsinchuang Gymnasium, New Taipei is set to play again, this time is for the much anticipated game event of FIBA Asia Cup 2012.
The 4th edition of FIBA Asia Cup will be held at Ota Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan. 10 countries will play a match against each other, but for the preliminary round the 10 countries will be divided into two teams. Team A will be compose of Smart Gilas (Philippines), China, Lebanon, Macau, and Uzbekistan. As for Team B are the countries of Chinese Taipei, India, Iran, Japan, and Qatar.
