Few minutes ago, Smart Gilas Pilipinas II have face team Qatar at Ota Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan. The face off is to win the third (3rd) place on FIBA Asia Cup 2012. After being defeated by Iran for the championship match yesterday, Gilas is now only set today to battle for the third slot of this tournament.
On the beginning of the first quarter against Qatar, the latter team have manage to put up a 4 points lead against Philippine team, and on the second quarter, Qatar's score have increased to 9 points lead against our team. This is another tough fight for our country.
Still, on the third quarter of the game match, Qatar maintained their lead of 7 points against Philippine team. Before the fourth quarter of the match ends, Qatar continue to increased their lead against our team. Lot's of viewers are losing their hope in this game. Qatar shocked Philippines with four consecutive three points shot that made their lead against Gilas increased by 15 in the last 3 minutes of the game match.
On the last minute of the fourth quarter, Qatar manage to make another three point shot for their team, that made them win this finale game match against our country. With a score of 79 against Gilas 63 score, no more doubt that Qatar got the 3rd Place on FIBA Asia Cup 2012.
