As of 11 a.m. this morning on PAGASA weather bulletin, Tropical depression seen in PAR had intensified into Tropical Storm named still as "HELEN". The intensity of the storm will affect mostly of Northern Luzon. Tropical Storm (Bagyong) Helen is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon.

August 13, 2012, 10 a.m. the current location of the said storm is at 550 km East Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora with a maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and Gustiness of up to 80 kph and is moving West Northwest at 13 kph.

According to PAGASA's weather forecast, 'Helen' will be at 330 km East Northeast of Tuguegarao City on Tuesday morning and will move on 80 km North Northeast of Aparri, Cagayan the next day. On Thursday, the storm will be at 220 km West of Basco, Batanes.

Public storm warning signal no. 1 with 45-60 kph winds are now given to the provinces currently affected by 'Helen', this provinces are listed as follows:

Calayan Grp. of Islands
Batanes Grp. of Islands

PAGASA now warned residents with storm warning signal living closed to mountainous areas that there will be possible flashfloods and landslides in their areas.
