Malacañang officials announced the search and rescue operation resumed today, August 19, Sunday. DILG secretary Jesse Robredo and the rest of his companions are still missing from the plane crash to Masbate sea on August 18, 2012.

Secretary Mar Roxas said, "US government has joined search and rescue operations for Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo and his companions who have gone missing after their small Piper aircraft crashed."

Malacañang statement said, "Throughout the night, search and rescue operations for Secretary Jesse Robredo and party continued. More assets are being deployed this morning to intensify the search."

According to report, Robredo together with his aide Senior Inspector Jun Abrasado, pilot Capt. Jessup Bahinting, and Nepalese co-pilot Kshitiz Chand, were on board a five-seater Piper Seneca aircraft when it crashed at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Due to darkness in the plane crashed area, the rescue operations was postponed for several hours and only Senior Inspector  Abrazado has been rescued from the crash site.
