Tropical Depression Ferdie is expected to be 300km west northwest of Laoag City by Saturday night, expert said of Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA raised another Storm Warning Signal No. 1 to the following areas:

Abra
Ilocos Norte
Ilocos Sur

PAGASA weather forecast posted on their site, "At 4:00 a.m. today, Tropical Depression "FERDIE" was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 80 km north northwest of Aparri, Cagayan (19.1°N, 121.4°E). Meanwhile, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 150 km west southwest of Laoag City (17.7°N, 119.0°E). Southwest Monsoon affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. "

PAGASA said, "Tropical Depression "FERDIE" has crossed the Balintang Channel and merged with the Low Pressure Area (LPA) over the West Philippine Sea."

Meanwhile, The new LPA is already in the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

PAGASA reported as of 10:30 p.m. tonight, "Tropical Depression "FERDIE" continues to move away from the country and is already out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR)."
