Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said, "the tropical storm over the Caroline Island has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and was named 'BUTCHOY'."

PAGASA 5:00 a.m., weather bulletin posted, "Southwest monsoon affecting Luzon. Meanwhile, a Tropical Storm (Int'l Name: GUCHOL) was estimated 1,110 km East of Northern Mindanao (10.5°N, 136.5°E) with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph. It is moving West Northwest at 20 kph. "

Tropical Storm Butchoy is the second storm to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Meanwhile, PAGASA announced that there's no Public Storm Warning Signals Raised in the country.
