The active low pressure area east of Virac, Catanduanes has developed into a tropical depression and was named "DINDO," according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather forecaster.

PAGASA weather bulletin posted on their official website, "At 4:00 PM today, the active low pressure area has developed into a tropical depression and was named "DINDO". It was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 670 km east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes (14.2°N, 131.3°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 19 kph. Southwest monsoon affecting Visayas and Mindanao.  "

PAGASA weather forecaster Buddy Javier said, "Inaasahan namin in 36 hours, magiging ganap na bagyo ito. Umakyat ito ng kaunti. ‘Pag naging bagyo ito ang tawag natin dito 'Dindo'."

PAGASA forecaster added, "The rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms."

Meanwhile, Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Eastern Seaboards of Luzon and Visayas due to big waves generated by the effect of the Southwest Monsoon and Tropical Depression "DINDO".
