Researcher Neil Lundberg, Ph.D. said, "When you argue about something and when that something gets in the way of you spending time together as a couple, that’s going to be a problem."

Researchers study surveyed, "351 married couples where at least one partner played online role-playing games, three of four non-gaming spouses want their partner to pay more attention to their real-life relationship."

So in that case, if your spouse is one of the non-gaming person, you should give him/her more attention or else problem may arise if you don't do that. Added to that it will resulting arguments and disrupted bedtime habits, and the problems were worst for partners of new gamers.

However, according to the study, they also found out that three-fourths of both gamer couples reported that playing together made their marriages more satisfying and happy.

I think if you can't resist yourself from playing online games, you should ask your partner to play with you, so he/she can relate to your gaming world.

Meanwhile, Prof. Anthony Rotolo of the Syracuse University iSchool who studies social networks said that he has friends whose long-term relationships began through playing together online.
