The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said, There is no cyclone looming over the country but there's a thunderstorm over most parts of Metro Manila.

According to PAGASA Weather bulletin issued at: 5:00 a.m., 16 August 2011:
Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
PAGASA posted in their website that there is "no tropical cyclone within the Philippine area of responsibility."
Earlier, PAGASA noted that the inter-tropical convergence zone may bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms to parts of the country.
