Bong Go: 'Duterte will boycott the Press Media'


In the series of the controversial issue on 'media killings' and 'boycott Duterte's presscon,' the incoming president Rodrigo Duterte announced through his assistant that he will boycott the media. Bong Go said Duterte is boycotting the media,


In a text message received by the executive assistant Bong Go, he told to the reporters, "Kung ayaw n'yo daw mag-boycott sa kanya, s'ya daw mag-boycott sa inyo."

In line with this statement, a group of international press people advised the local press media to boycott the presscon of the incoming president. But the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines decided not to boycott Duterte.

But Bong Go added in his text message, "[Anyway], mayor pa naman siya and si PNoy ang pres[idente]."

Since 1992, the inauguration of the President of the Philippines traditionally begins with the President-Elect fetching the incumbent in MalacaƱan Palace on the morning of 30 June, according to Wikipedia.

In accordance with this statement, executive assistant Go also announced that Duterte will not entertain any press conference to avoid mistakes.

Go quoted saying, "Sa ngayon, wala nang press con para walang mali."

"Iko-course through niya through state-owned station iyong mga press releases, iyong mga interviews," he said on his separate interview on GMA TV's “State of the Nation with Jessica Soho.”
