Smart Communications, Inc. (SMART), one of the fast leading network provider here in the Philippines have released their newest and upgraded LTE service - 5G wireless technology LTE-Advanced or what they called LTE-A.

Goodbye slow Internet? Smart says network now on 5G LTE-A
5G wireless technology LTE-Advanced (LTE-A)

According to the Telco, with the previously switched LTE-A, they'll able to deliver data from 100 megabits per second (mbps) to 1 gigabit per second (Gbps), or ten times faster than 3G services and more than twice as fast as 4G services.

They said that they're just one of the few carriers around the world that provides LTE-A network, most them are mobile operators in South Korea, United States, Singapore, Australia, and Hong Kong.

Smart chief wireless advisor, Orlando B. Vea said, "Even as our 3G and 4G networks continue to be unrivalled, SMART becomes the first operator to leap into the future and put the Philippines at par with the world’s most advanced countries in terms of mobile communications technology.”

After SMART tested the LTE-A last year month of August, which results more than a 100MBPS speed in Makati City, Boracay Island and Davao City, the company is confident enough to say, with LTE-A you may now say goodbye to online video buffering / streaming, and video call will be almost lag-free. Even 10MB files can now be downloaded in less than a second.

Aside from the promise fast speed internet, LTE-A also have the capability to allocate more network resources to cunsumers  when the need arises.

Way to go SMART, now let see when will Globe and the rest of the network competes with SMART's network upgrade.
