Pangasinan Doctor: No Flesh-eating illness here

The mysterious illness spreading in Pangasinan is not true. The LGU health office of Pangasinan cleared that the alleged flesh-eating disease in a girl is a leprosy and the boy is suffering from psoriasis.

According to GMA News, Dr. Maria Anna Theresa de Guzman said that the reported victims are not suffering from flesh-eating disease and there's no any illness spreading in the province.

But some specialist confirmed that the girl illness is not leprosy and it was another skin disease, it was called, pyoderma gangrenosum.

Department of Health said that Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease that causes red patches covered with white scales to appear on the sufferer's skin.

And this is the case of another reported victim of alleged flesh-eating disease.

So the news about the flesh-eating disease is only a hoax, according to Health Secretary Enrique Ona.

He said, "Absolutely no reason for the public to panic."
