PAGASA: Bagyong VINTA Update - Intensified into a Typhoon

State weather bureau said that Bagyong VINTA has intensified into a typhoon and it will make landfall to extreme Northern Luzon specially in Cagayan-Apayao area.

PAGASA weather advisory as of 11 a.m. today,  "Vinta has intensified, packing maximum sustained winds of 105 kilometers per hour near the center and poses a real threat to extreme Northern Luzon."

Public storm warning signal no. 3 was placed in the following areas:
Cagayan
Calayan
Babuyan Group of Islands
Apayao
Ilocos Norte

Public storm warning signal no. 2 ( winds 60 to 100 kph):

Batanes Group of Islands
Abra
Kalinga
Ilocos Sur
Mt. Province
Isabela

Public storm warning signal no. 1 ( winds 30-60 kph):

La Union
Benguet
Ifugao
Nueva Vizcaya
Quirino
Aurora
Pangasinan
Nueva Ecija
Tarlac
Zambales

PAGASA alerted those areas under Public Storm Warning Signals #3, #2 and #1 against possible flashfloods and landslides. Moreover, coastal areas under Public Storm Warning Signal#3 and #2 are alerted against possible storm surges.
