Tropical Storm "NANDO" Update as of August 28, 2013 | Habagat affect Northern Luzon

Tropical Storm "NANDO" is now moving on North Northwest and estimated at Itbayat, Batanes. While Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is expected to affect the Eastern and Western seaboards of Northern Luzon, as reported by PAGASA, August 28, 2013.

PAGASA weather bulletin as of 5 am today, " the center of Tropical Storm "NANDO" was estimated at 120 km East of Itbayat, Batanes and continues to move in a North Northwest direction away from the country at 15 kph."

Public storm signal no#2 is still up in Batanes Group of Islands, while signal no#1 in the areas of Cagayan, Calayan, and Babuyan Group of Islands.

PAGASA added that Tropical Storm "NANDO" will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring light to moderate with at times heavy rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Meanwhile, PAGASA alerted the residents of areas under Public Storm Warning Signals # 2 and 1 as well as those living in the Ilocos Region and Cordillera against possible flashfloods and landslides. Likewise, those living in coastal areas under storm signal # 2 are alerted against storm surges.
