Tropical Storm Quinta Update December 26, 2012

Philippine weather bureau said Tropical Storm "QUINTA" has slightly weakened after making landfall over Leyte and is now traversing Camotes Island. TS Quinta was estimated 40km East of Roxas City, Capiz, as of 8 a.m. advisory.

PAGASA weather bulletin as of 4:00 am today, "the center of Tropical Storm "QUINTA" was estimated based on all available data in the vicinity of Pacijan Island, Cebu (10.7°N, 124.3°E) with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is forecast to move West at 20 kph. Northeast monsoon affecting Luzon."

Meanwhile, PAGASA alerted those residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signal #2 and #1 against possible flashfloods and landslides. And advised fishing boats and other small seacrafts not to venture out into the seaboards of Luzon and Visayas and northern seaboard of Mindanao.

UPDATE: At 11:00 a.m. today, 26 December 2012, PAGASA said, the center of Tropical Depression "QUINTA" was estimated 40 km West of Roxas City, Capiz (11.6°N, 122.6°E).
