According to The Verge, "Office Mobile will debut in the form of free apps that allow Android and iOS users to view Microsoft Office documents on the move."

It added that, "Microsoft account will provide access to the basic viewing functionality in the apps. Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents will all be supported, and edit functionality can be enabled with an Office 365 subscription."

So you need to create a Microsoft account in order to use this app for free in viewing functionality and if you want to try the edit functionality, you need to purchase the Office 365 feature. But don't expect that you can do the full functionality like what you can do to the desktop or PC version.

Meanwhile, according to the site source, the Office Mobile Android version will come in May while the iOS version will come first this early of March.
