Tropical Depression Helen Update - August 12, 2012

Philippine weather bureau showed that the active low-pressure-area which was in our Philippine area of responsibility had intensify into tropical depression this Sunday evening. PAGASA named the tropical depression as "HELEN."

PAGASA weather bulletin posted as of 7:00 p.m. tonight that, "the center of Tropical Depression "HELEN" was located based on satellite and surface data at 720 km East of Casiguran, Aurora"

Tropical Depression Helen is spotted east of Casiguran, Aurora with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center and moving West Northwest at 11 kph.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and nearby provinces are still coping up from the effects of southwest monsoon and floods last week, according to PAGASA.
