No Classes in Marikina, Malabon and QC till Friday

The cities of Marikina, Malabon and Quezon City are the areas badly hit by the southwest monsoon (habagat) starting from Sunday evening, LGU's on the said areas have decided to suspend the classes until Friday, August 10, 2012.

This announcement was made throught the help of the radio station and social media website.

Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman said classes from preschool to high school will be suspended until August 10.

While, Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and Malabon Mayor Lenlen Oreta said classes in all levels, will be suspended until Friday.

Southwest monsoon rains deeply hit those cities in the past few days, with a torrential downpour flooding in many major streets.

Meanwhile, PAGASA weather forecast as of 6:50 p.m. said, "Heavy to Intense rainfall (15.0-27.0 mm/hr) over QC & Marikina, Moderate to Heavy rainfall (8.0-12.0 mm/hr) was recorded over Manila and Pasig while Light to Moderate rainfall (1.0-7.0 mm/hr) over the rest of Metro Manila. "
