Iran Earthquakes left 200 casualties and 1000 missing

Another shocking disaster has struck the country of Iran Saturday night of August 11, 2012. Two consecutive earthquakes hit the earlier mentioned country leaving 200 casualties on counts and almost 2000 injuries are estimated.


According to a local media in Iran, there were 40 aftershocks that was recorded after the earthquakes destroyed most part of Iran.

Reported by U.S. Geological Survey, the first quake was measured with a magnitude of 6.4 that hit 60 kilometers northeast of Tabriz city, while the second quake was measured with a magnitude of 6.3 that struck near the town of Varzaghan eleven minutes later after the first quake.

Due to the time that the earthquake has occurred, emergency rescuer were disrupt, however there are still lot of victims that were rescued as reported by the local media.

A report coming from Iranian media, a local official said that the counts of casualties may still increase cause there are still 1000 missing people.
