Good News to all mobile phone users! because starting November 30, 2011, all telecommunication company such as Smart, Globe and SUN Cellular are lowering their SMS rates. You read it right dude, the National Telecommunications Commission ordered the rate for short messaging service (SMS) into 80 centavos from P1 per text message.
NTC deputy commissioner Delilah Deles said, “They furnished us a letter informing us that the new SMS access charge will take effect on their respective networks effective Nov. 30.”
Deles said on a text message to GMA News, “The lower SMS access rates will help provide greater benefits to our customers, especially those who are currently using our unlimited services.”
Meanwhile, The circular noted that the network providers “should provide the interconnection links or circuits” to guarantee that 99 percent of text messages would reach their destination within 30 seconds.
