Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said, " storm Pedring has intensified into a typhoon and will bring rains to almost the entirety of Luzon."
The Department of Education (DepEd) declared suspention of classes in elementary and high school levels for both private and public schools starting 12 noon due to Typhoon Pedring.
PAGASA placed storm warning signal No. 1 in Metro Manila and the following areas:
Masbate, Ticao Island, Marinduque, Batangas, Laguna, Rizal, Cavite, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Tarlac, Zambales, Pangasinan, La Union, Benguet, Mountain province, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Kalinga, Apayao, Calayan and Babuyan Group of Islands and Northern Samar.
While storm warning signal No.2 was hoisted over Catanduanes, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Quezon including Polillo Island, Aurora, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela, Ifugai, Cagayan, Sorsogon.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said, "storm is expected to make landfall Tuesday morning over Isabela or Aurora area."

After the Department of Education suspended classes at the elementary and high school levels as of noon today.
MalacaƱang said, "it will not recommend the suspension of college classes and government work today."
