The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said, the Philippines had been awarded as the 2011 “Honeymoon Destination of the Year" by the "China Travel and Meetings Industry Awards."
DFA said in a news release posted on their website last Sunday:
“The announcement of this award is auspicious, coming ahead of the State Visit of President Benigno Aquino III to China, which draws focus on the efforts of the Philippine and Chinese governments to facilitate and further strengthen the level of economic and people-to-people ties, including tourism."
According to DFA, the Philippines have beaten the four country in Asia tourist spot, which includes Bali in Indonesia and Thailand in the process of voting.
