World Population to Surpass 7 Billion in 2011

The Population Division of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the UN, predicted that world population will reach 10.1 billion in 2100. While the world population growth is seen to reach 7 billion this year 2011 as reported in many news sites.

According to David Bloom, Clarence James Gamble Professor of Economics and Demography at the Harvard School of Public Health, "These sizable increases represent an unprecedented global demographic upheaval."

Over the next 40 years, nearly all (97%) of the 2.3 billion projected increase will be in the less developed regions, with nearly half (49%) in Africa.

According to the research, the population growth will affect the developing countries. Like in India is predicted to overtake China as the most populated country.

By contrast, the populations of more developed countries will remain flat, but will age, with fewer working-age adults to support retirees living on social pensions.

United Nations (UN) stated that the significant of increase in the world population to 10 billion in year 2100 would be likely can affect the different views of human lifestyle.
