Marikina River Water Level Update

According to officer-in-charge of Rescue 161 Ronald Mejia, the marikina river water level set to Alert Level 3, which is 17.1 meters as of 5:40 p.m. The water level of Marikina River breached the critical point of 17.1 meters.

As of now there are a total of 7,472 people from 1,123 families living in Barangays Nangka, Tumana, Malanday, and Sto. Niño — along the Marikina River — have already volunteered to flee to safety.

Due to the heavy rains brought by tropical storm “Falcon” caused the Marikina River's water level to overflow which prompted the officials to deicide a third-level alarm yesterday afternoon.

Meanwhile, some residents specially to the Provident Villages at Barangays J. delos Reyes and Tañong have likewise started leaving their houses.

If you remember what happened to the Provident Villages before, this is hardest hit area in Marikina by the typhoon Ondoy in September 2009.
