LRT 1 Back to Normal on Monday, May 30 2011

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) Line-1 route from Baclaran to Roosevelt LRT stations will resume its full operations on Monday. They made the entire signalling system completed earlier as it announced to suspend operations on Saturday, May 28 to Monday, May 30, 2011.

The integration of the entire Line 1 signalling system has been completed one day earlier than the original schedule, LRTA administrator Rafael Rodriguez said in a press statement.

"Our maintenance team exerted all efforts to complete the integration works over the weekend so as not to give inconvenience to the riding public,: Rodriguez added.

The permanent integration of the signaling systems of the North Extension Project with the existing Line 1 system is expected to provide a more efficient and safer rail service to train commuters.

LRTA said that about 500,000 people use the Baclaran Roosevelt route everyday.

FYI: The LRT-1 is the country's oldest and most used train system.
